In The Summertime…….. Country Living - June 2012 Issue

Despite the morning being a wash out and the team having to take shelter in the summerhouse, whilst heavy rain and dramatic dark grey skies hindered our work, this was a lovely story to shoot. The afternoon, true to a typical changeable English summertime, was a completely different story thankfully, which allowed us to capture the romantic cover shot and the dreamy floral themed garden scenes, beautifully styled by the lovely Caroline Reeves.

Single Colour Schemes - Country Living - April 2012

I am rather late in posting this, as I suspect the magazine is no longer on the shelves to buy, however better late than never!

It is always great to get a cover shot. Covers are the trickiest images to create as you need to consider where all the text is going to go but still maintain a strong composition and appealing image. Working with Ben (Home Design Editor of CL) makes the process easy though, as he has styled numerous cover shots over the years, so knows what will work, clever chap that he is.

Decor8 - 1st May 2012 -

I just heard about London-based photographer Catherine Gratwicke from Iris because Catherine is photographing her home today for an upcoming book (congrats, Iris!) and so I had to check out her portfolio and I’m so glad I did. Catherine has a great eye and enormous talent for interiors photography and stills. I thought I’d share a few glimpses of her work today so you can be inspired too.

The quality of light in the photos in beautiful, but so is the decor! I love the tiles (or is it wallpaper) around the fireplace in the first picture. And the owl cushion?! Want one! Also, those blue shelves with the blue and earthy hues crockery, such a lovely combination of colours.

White Zone - Conde Nast Brides March/April 2012

It is great to look at these pictures again and remember the beautiful weather we had in the autumn last year, when these were shot, in a meadow in London NW6.

Past & Present - Country Living February 2012

This Northamptonshire cottage is home to artist and ceramics designer, Katie Alice and her husband Justin. It was a really interesting house to shoot as it was filled with unusual finds from salvage yards and antiques fairs collected by Katie and Justin.

Christmas - YOU Magazine Dec 2011

We photographed this story in a stunning East End London four storey Georgian town house, and it definitely helped us get in the Christmas spirit. The day was cold and overcast with very wintery heavy low lying clouds but the light in the house was beautifully soft and due to the muted interior created a lovely side light which was perfect to create a festive atmosphere.
